Phosphorus – how leaves add phosphorus to Madison’s lakes

Lakes in the Yahara Watershed have too much phosphorus going into them. Most of this phosphorus comes from agricultural sources like cow manure. But some is urban, from things like leaves and pet waste. This video describes the problem and explains ways you can help lower the amount of phosphorus you are putting into the lakes.
